
(CNN) – Two FBI agents were killed and three others injured while serving warrants in Sunrise, Florida, according to a statement by the FBI. The suspect in the incident also died. The suspect was wanted in connection with violent crimes against children, the statement said.
Two of the injured officers were taken to hospital in stable condition, according to the statement. The condition of the injured third officer is unclear.
FBI Director Christopher Wray released a statement identifying the two agents who died on Mars in Sunrise, Florida.
“Tragically, the FBI lost two of us today. Special Agent Daniel Alfin and Special Agent Laura Schwartzenberger were shot on duty this morning while executing a search warrant ordered by a federal court in an investigation of crimes against children in Sunrise, Florida, ” Wray said in the notice.
“Three other officers were shot and wounded; two injuries sustained requiring hospital care, but both are now in stable condition. The third injured officer did not need to be hospitalized, ”he said.
