The Chicago Bears have signed veteran Andy Dalton to a one-year $ 10 million deal in free agency, but quarterback remains a hot topic around the team.
Rumors about Russell Wilson have been the loudest, and now there’s another quarterback ready for the trading market. After the Carolina Panthers traded for Sam Darnold, Teddy Bridgewater remains ripe for the taking. And for many people, the easiest assumption was that the Bears were a landing site.
Of course, a popular point of discussion was the possibility that Chicago was trading in Bridgewater, where the fans were divided. Some believe that Bridgewater would be an immediate upgrade from Dalton or Nick Foles. Others believe that Bridgewater is a cautionary tale, especially to someone who reportedly turned down a bid with the Bears last season because he didn’t want to compete with Mitchell Trubisky.
My only takeaway from the Darnold trade is that it’s further confirmation that Teddy Bridgewater just isn’t the answer. I know Foles didn’t come out, but thank goodness the Bears didn’t get him.

I will never understand that Bear fans are in love with Teddy Bridgewater.
If a team leaves you after ONE SEASON, it means they don’t like you very much.
Not only did they move on, but they also traded multiple draft picks to find another option to replace him.

In hindsight, I wonder if the Bears should have moved to Bridgewater instead of Dalton.
I mean, in hindsight, a move would be better for almost any other quarterback.

If the Bears were smart, they would trade Dalton and immediately upgrade to Bridgewater. They both have health issues, but Teddy has so many more benefits and makes the offense better than Dalton based on a variety of factors. Make the trade !!!!!!!!! @BuienRadarNL

Not me. I knew Bridgewater, Foles, Cam, etc. were not the answer last season and I am here to tell you that Dalton is not the answer either. So don’t get amnesia and start believing he can play well for the #Bears next season, because it’s not going to happen. https://t.co/WBzKh0qqYW

Teddy Bridgewater is a better QB than Denver, Bears or Patriots have on their list. #NFL

Also Teddy Bridgewater before Bears fans have the day is no answer at all.
He is a below average QB with a below average arm.

So teddy Bridgewater is available now? I’ll take him on the Bears !!
– Joe (@HugeBearsFan) April 5, 2021
I shouldn’t have any hope that the bears will grab Bridgewater, would I?

Carolina paid $ 45 million to Teddy Bridgewater and now traded three picks for a QB outplayed by Joe Flacco. Not really sure what the plan is, but investing so much at QB for mediocrity is Bears-ish.

Foles, Dalton and Darnold…. I prefer Bridgewater and Mond on the Bears.

I get it Teddy Bridgewater is not good, but the Saints should have tried to keep him or make the Bears pay too much for him (sorry bear fans you just kinda reach for qbs it’s just one thing)

I wish the Bears had signed Teddy Bridgewater instead of Andy Dalton.

Does this mean we can add Bridgewater to the Bears QB tryouts?

Bears should have at least tried to get hold of Bridgewater, but that would be too smart

Teddy Bridgewater to the Bears for 6th

Remember Bridgewater didn’t sign with the Bears because “he didn’t want a game with Trubisky”
