Tweets from Texas Republican lawmakers mocking California power outages are being criticized this week as the Lone Star State grapples with winter storms that have caused many to lose power in their homes.
GOP lawmakers challenged Democrats when massive heatwaves in California in 2019 caused widespread power outages affecting 30 of the state’s 58 counties.
Over the weekend, an unusual winter storm left millions in Texas without power, prompting the state’s power grid operator to declare a supreme state of emergency and expose the old tweets from Republican lawmakers.

My parents had no electricity in Houston for nearly 24 hours, they don’t even run the Houston power outage anymore. It seems Republicans like you were taking energy for granted and not investing enough in the Texas power grid.
