TV personality Adam Conover says Netflix’s live-action Legend of Zelda project was real, but was canceled due to leaks

It was always real …

Well, here’s an absolutely important story that seemingly came out of nowhere, and it comes from a source that is equally random.

Comedian / TV host Adam Conover was on The Serf Times podcast recently to talk about a Netflix feature he has on the way. That turned into a discussion about the rumored Legend of Zelda live-action adaptation that Nintendo and Netflix supposedly worked on years ago.

In the discussion, Conover reveals that the project was indeed real, given that he had ties to another project with Nintendo at the time. That project was eventually canceled, as was the Legend of Zelda Netflix deal. Why was everything canceled? Nintendo was upset about the Netflix deal leaks, allegedly leaked from someone within Netflix itself. When the leak got there, Nintendo decided to squash a number of projects at the time, including the Legend of Zelda adaptation.

You can hear the entire discussion about the project in the video above. Fast forward to 39:47 to hear.
