To reasonable people, it seems United wants to diversify the airline industry and bring more opportunities to disadvantaged communities, but to conservative experts like Tucker Carlson and UK Tucker Carlson, Piers Morgan, this is a plot that will result in planes falling from the sky during a positive action shot because apparently only white males are qualified to be pilots.

The training to learn to fly an airplane is not going to change just because a black person or woman takes it, and there is no reason to think that non-white men will be licensed to fly airplanes without displaying the knowledge and skill that required to complete said training. But Carlson – the man who too doesn’t think women belong in the military, as if the thousands of women serving in the military probably wouldn’t beat his mother – don’t believe that because, well, he’s a racist and misogynistic idiot.

Carlson isn’t the only vulnerable white man to ignore the fact that a historic lack of diversity initiatives in the business world is the only reason white men think they are the face of meritocracy. Morgan – the man who dashed off a set as a little bitch baby after being called for using his platform to deliver big incel energy to Meghan Markle –wrote an entire opinion piece in response to United’s announcement titled, “What’s next for the awakened fighters of the corporate world – blind pilots?”
First of all, one of these days I’m going to write a piece about how the right-wing story that diversity is part of a progressive “awake” trend is actually that they admit conservatism is synonymous with whiteness. But for now, let’s focus on the fact that Morgan has suggested that allowing non-white men to fly airplanes is akin to letting a blind man fly.
Morgan wrote that when it comes to his concerns regarding flying, “I definitely don’t care about a pilot’s gender or skin color,” because he clearly doesn’t realize THIS SHIT IS NOT ABOUT YOU WHITE MAN – it’s about creating opportunities for women and people of color to find jobs in a white male dominated field.
Morgan went so far as to call out bogus double standards and ask why no one wants to diversify the black male dominated NBA. (Yes, British Bill O’Reilly actually went there.)
The truth is, Carlson, Morgan, and any other conservative snowflake that clings to their white pearls at the mention of the word “diversity” are as vulnerable as they are racist and sexist.
The world around them is changing and advocating that the business world reflects the diversity of the population, and now everything that comes out of their mouths is a variation on, “Please don’t someone think about the whites?”
It’s sad, but what else can you expect from people who don’t seem to understand that diversity and meritocracy are not mutually exclusive?
