When it comes to their remasters, Square Enix hasn’t given them a lot of physical love on Switch. Final Fantasy VII / VIII was an exception, however SaGA Frontier and Crystal Chronicles’ Final Fantasy are currently digital only. Unless you plan to import this new collector’s edition, Legend of Mana seems to be heading in the same direction.
Announced in the Nintendo Direct presentation last week, Legend of Mana was first released in 1999 on PS1, the fourth main entry after Trials of ManaRemastered as part of Mana’s 30th anniversary, Square Enix has also confirmed an exclusive collector’s edition for Japan.
Includes the game, art book, Li’l Catcus plush toy, and an official soundtrack, which costs ¥ 14,300. Currently it is also the only way to obtain Legend of Mana physically. In this listing, Square Enix states that “this game pack will not be sold separately”. This edition has also not been confirmed for a Western release. Boo.
We are launching on June 24 and we hope that Square Enix will make this more widely available. It’s a shame if they don’t, but JRPG fans have plenty to look forward to.
