“We all knew the Biden administration was going to be bad, but none of us could have even imagined how bad they would be and how far to the left,” Trump told a crowd of enthusiastic supporters at the Conservative Political Action Conference. CPAC) in Orlando, Florida.
In a speech that lasted well over an hour, Trump tore into Biden’s fledgling presidency by hitting him on topics ranging from immigration to the pandemic to trade to transgender rights. He labeled Biden’s government as “anti-jobs, anti-family, anti-borders, anti-energy, anti-women, and anti-science.”
Notably, the speech reflected Trump’s first speech as a presidential candidate in 2015 through its heavy emphasis on immigration and the border.
‘They could be murderers. They could be rapists. They could be drug smugglers. You take them with you and you release them in our country, ”he said, referring to undocumented migrants.
Trump also focused on Biden’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, taking credit for the distribution of vaccines in the US.
“I have handed the new government a modern medical miracle,” he said, referring to the vaccine.
“I’ve put pressure on the FDA [Food and Drug Administration] like they’ve never been pushed before, ”he continued. “They were never pushed the way I pushed them. I didn’t like them at all, but once we did, I said, “I love you very much now.” ”
Trump also came across conservative issues, including moves to enable transgender women to participate in female sports.
“What coach would like to recruit a young woman if her record could be easily broken by someone born a man?” he said. “I think it’s crazy. We must protect the integrity of women’s sports.”
Trump took the opportunity to falsely continue to say he won the 2020 presidential election several times, while calling for further ballot restrictions. At one point, his comments about the 2020 election elicited chants of “ you won ” from the crowd.
The address comes amid an increasing divide in the Republican Party. Inundated with praise and adoration during the four-day event in Orlando, the former president wants to tighten his grip on a party that has seen internal divisions clearly come into view following the events of January 6, when a pro-Trump gang stormed the Capitol in an attempt to disrupt Biden’s Electoral College’s certification of victory.

And Trump did not rule out running again in 2024. He repeatedly teased the possibility during his speech, drawing loud cheers from the crowd.
“We will take back the House first, and then a Republican president will return triumphantly to the White House. I wonder who that will be, ”he said at the end of his speech to a loud ovation.
