Trump pardons more allies, including his son-in-law’s father – the US and Canada – International

Outgoing President of the United States, Donald Trump, issued a new set of pardons on Wednesday for his allies, including Jared Kushner’s father, who join a long list of people who have been forgiven in his last days in office.

Besides the pardon for Charles Kushner -the father of his son-in-law- Trump also forgave his 2016 campaign chairman Paul Manafort, and his longtime ally, Roger Stone, the White House said in a statement.

They were among 26 people who were pardoned and three to whom Trump commuted all or part of their sentences on Wednesday.

This new pardon comes just a day after Trump pardoned 15 other people and commuted the sentences to five. Tuesday’s list included two people linked to the investigation into alleged collusion between his campaign and Russia, and four Blackwater guards convicted of the murder of 14 Iraqi civilians in 2007.

The measure caused outrage, and Wednesday’s move is likely to provoke a similar response.. Real estate developer Charles Kushner pleaded guilty in 2004 to, among other things, tax evasion and tampering with witnesses. Many had hoped for his pardon, given his family connection.
