Trump ‘happier’ now that he no longer has social media: former assistant

Former President Trump “feels happier” since leaving the White House – in part because he lacks social media, his former campaign advisor says.

“The president has said he feels happier now than ever before,” Jason Miller, the former Trump campaign strategist, said in an interview with the British Sunday Times.

Trump was banned from Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms following the siege of the Capitol last month.

“He said not being on social media and not being subject to the hateful echo chamber that social media gets too often has actually been good,” Miller told the outlet.

“That’s the First Lady [Melania] also backed up. She has said that she loves it, that he is much happier and has a lot more fun, ”said the ex-assistant.

Trump has also taken advantage of the fact that he was no longer under the pressure of the highest office, Miller said.

Since Trump left the White House, it was “the first time in years that I saw the president really relaxed,” Miller told the paper.

“Only 45 other people in US history have experienced what it’s like to have the world on their shoulders. . . and to be able to breathe out for the first time in four years, knowing it’s not all up to you. “

Meanwhile, Trump shared “some very tender moments” with his family as he left Washington, DC for his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, Miller said.

“It was nice to sit in the front row for that. The emotions ran across the spectrum. Some people were very sad that this day had arrived, but there was a sense of pride that this was the most successful first term in the history of the US president, ”said Miller.
