Truckers and the Fiscal Control Board reach an agreement

Road workers and the Fiscal Control Board (JCF) have reached an agreement not to revoke the hike in transportation tariffs, Truckers of Puerto Rico spokesman Leonardo Delgado reported today.

“During those negotiations we reached an agreement with the Board of Directors that they first recognized that transportation in Puerto Rico was an essential service. That sentence is a significant legal burden for us. They acknowledged that the temporary tariffs issued by the transportation industry in December 2020 remained in effect, ”he said in Delgado at a press conference.

For this reason, they canceled the strike that was scheduled for tomorrow, Monday.

Camiones Unidos de Puerto Rico spokesman Carlos Schettini warned on Thursday that he would face a strike until JCF stopped rejecting transport tariffs and the tariffs approved in 2020 were recognized. The strike would have affected supplies on the island.
