RELATED: DFW Weather: Historic winter storm brings heavy snow and dangerously cold temperatures
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – If you have to hit the road in Dallas on Monday, the Department of Public Works has 32 shed trucks operating non-stop until Monday night.
They will target streets, bridges, ramps and slippery sections of the roadway reported by residents on 311. Twenty-eight additional trucks are on standby and ready to go if conditions worsen.
If the DART railway is your main mode of transport, you need to find an alternative. For the safety of customers and employees, the services will be discontinued until Wednesday.

“Frozen switches, frozen passenger doors are the biggest concern,” said spokesman Gordon Shattles. “If we have to shut these things down, the last thing we want is a passenger left on a platform in this weather.”
DART will maintain its bus service, but will operate on Saturdays with limited service on routes 63 & 362. It will also operate 14 additional shuttle bus routes.
“We want to make sure people stay warm while they wait for their buses, so we’ve reopened transit centers,” Shattles said.
In terms of air travel, if you have a flight tomorrow, contact your airline in advance to see the status and give yourself extra time to get to the airport.
