Transgender star Elliot Page has reportedly filed for divorce from their wife Emma Portner less than two months after the Umbrella Academy actor came out publicly.
Elliot, 33, reportedly filed legal documentation with a Manhattan court, according to TMZ, in an attempt to dissolve their three-year marriage to the 26-year-old professional dancer, who publicly supported her partner’s decision to come out as transgender. . back in December.
Just days after Emma expressed her ‘pride’ about Elliot’s statement, she temporarily deleted her Instagram account – although it has since been reactivated. Both she and Elliot deleted all images of each other from their respective accounts.

DailyMail.com has contacted a spokesperson for comment.
Before deleting her account, Emma publicly advocated ‘patience and privacy’, making it clear that her own ‘gender identity, pronouns and sexuality’ are ‘private and not up for discussion’.
Elliot last addressed the audience in a statement on their Instagram account on December 20, when the actor thanked their fans for their support for their decision to come out.
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you,” Elliot wrote, sharing an image of themselves posing in a black hoodie and wire-frame glasses.
Your love and support has been the greatest gift. Stay safe. Be there for each other. ‘
Emma has shared a handful of posts on her account since reactivating the start of the new year, but she hasn’t discussed her relationship with Elliot since December, instead sharing two dance videos and two ironic selfies in which she sees her posing with a potato.
Despite deleting images of Elliot from her Instagram, Emma still posted a copy of the actor’s coming out statement to her account, along with the statement of support and pride she shared when it was released.

‘I also ask for patience and privacy [and] that you join me every day in the ardent support of trans life. Elliot’s existence is a gift in itself. Shine on sweet E. Love you so much. ‘
She also responded to Elliot’s Instagram post, writing, ‘I love you so much elliot.’
It’s unclear why Emma chose to delete her Instagram account in the days after Elliot came out, but it was believed at the time that the decision may have come as a result of the influx of hateful comments aimed at the Juno actor in the wake of their statement.
In light of the couple’s divorce news, it may be that Emma chose to step back from public opinion while treating her relationship privately.
Elliot and Emma have been together since 2017 and get married in a secret ceremony in early 2018.
