Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young went against a play by Memphis Grizzlies guard Grayson Allen from Saturday’s game, apparently feeling that Allen was deliberately trying to trip him up.
Young came off a screen as Allen followed them and their feet were tangled, with Young tripping over the play a bit.
“Damn … tell me what you all see !! Smh,”
Young tweeted Sunday. “this must stop.! #ifyoudontknownowyouknow”
Allen has a reputation for stumbling opponents, going back to his time at Duke. In 2017, coach Mike Krzyzewski has disciplined Allen over repeated tripping incidents.
All sarcastic Young responded on Twitter: “Damn, that must have really hurt. I’m sorry. I hope everything is fine.”
Allen and Young have a bit of history. The two suffered double technical fouls in a preseason game this year. Before that, Young and Allen acted as rookies at a summer camp in 2018.
The visiting Hawks defeated the Grizzlies 122-112 on Saturday, with Young still scoring 36 points with nine assists.
