Tractors will be sold in MLC ›Cuba› Granma

Independent producers linked to productive forms and state-owned companies will be able to purchase tractors, Belarus and New Holland from Belarus and Brazil, respectively, through the freely convertible currency (MLC) stores of Cuba.

Independent producers interested in this equipment, marketed by the Logistics Business Group of the Ministry of Agriculture (Gelma), must provide the documentation recognizing them as producer and for land ownership, that entity specifies on its Facebook page.

The Department of Agriculture is negotiating to include in the commercialization 32 new lines of national productions, such as multi-layer coal bags, egg trays, boots, vinyl paint, gloves, jute bags, carts, multiarados, flat files, plastic buckets, multipurpose boxes and sanitizing products.

The trading mode in MLC was an opportunity that Gelma has taken advantage of since September 10 last year to seek alternatives to the difficulties caused by the intensification of the blockade.

With these sales to producers, they raised about $ 300,000, according to the Minag website. Initially, the conditions were created in 16 centers in the provincial capitals; while the first experience was gained in three establishments in Havana, Villa Clara and Santiago de Cuba. However, seven shopping centers are currently in operation and eight more are expected to open.

Some 2,000 customers have already visited the establishments and 628 purchases have been made, most of them from producers and only 17 from industry.
