Toyota RAV4 models were examined for malfunctions that would cause a fire

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has started an investigation of millions of Toyota RAV4 vehicles for possible engine damage that could cause them to catch fire.

This federal agency received about 11 complaints about model cars from the period 2013-2018.

In documents published today it was explained that the fire usually starts in the left behavior of the engine, where a terminal would cause a short circuit.

According to the Bay News, most of these malfunctions occurred while driving the vehicles, but some drivers have reported the fire even with the engine out.

In this study 1.9 million vehicles would be evaluated.

Although the vehicles are not yet being called for repair by the company, the investigation may lead to this.

Toyota spokespersons declined to answer the media whether the owners of these vehicles should park them outside their homes to avoid a major accident.
