In the week in which the World Planet Earth DayToyota introduced the concept model of SUV, el bZ4X BEV.
With the launch of this model, a zero-emission all-electric concept, Toyota is strengthening its commitment to the environment and carbon neutrality by 2050.
“The Toyota bZ4X BEV concept highlights yet another option in our already strong electrified portfolio,” said Bob Carter, executive vice president of sales at Toyota Motor North America.
He added: “At Toyota, we are a people-centered company: the customer is our CEO and will ultimately decide which technologies will lead us to a carbon neutral future. With investments and product offerings across the electrification spectrum, we intend to be there with products and technologies that meet the diverse needs of customers around the world. “
The bZ4X concept is the first in a global series of battery-powered electric vehicles to be launched under the “Toyota bZ” brand umbrella, which stands for “more than zero”.
The model features a new AWD (“four-wheel drive”) system that is not only electric, but also charged with the sun’s rays.
Physically, it has a design with robust and sharp lines, leaving the traditional front grill and instead having a series of sensors, lights and aerodynamic elements.
The model joins a full line of electric vehicles that represent more than 40% of all hybrid vehicles sold in the United States.
Toyota plans to expand to approximately 70 electric models worldwide by 2025. In addition, it plans to bring electrification to its pick-up line in the near future.
