Toro recalls snow blowers for amputation hazards

The Toro Company is recalling approximately 6,700 snow throwers to fix an issue that poses an amputation hazard. When the defective product was recalled, much of the country was covered in snow, including states like Texas and Georgia that typically don’t see the winter weather that plows and shovels bring out.

According to a report from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Bloomington, Minnesota company has received five reports of incidents where the Toro Max Snowthrower’s jack would not release when the control lever was released.

No injuries were reported.
