Monterrey- Spending eight months in hospital, four of them in a coma due to Covid-19 and a double lung transplant, is a case that actor Toño Mauri has lived and wants to document in order to leave his testimony.

“I want to make a series that covers these and other cases, I see it as a series that we are used to seeing, with the difference that the main topic is this (those overcoming Covid and delicate surgeries like double transplantation).

“I do want to make a documentary, testimony with the images I have of making people from the beginning to today,” says Mauri, 56.

The singer also said that if he has the chance to survive the disease, he will pass on his experience to others.

“I’ve only heard from people who sadly passed away, but I haven’t heard much from those who got saved. And I can say that every night I thought it was my last day,” he said.

Mauri was sensitive at a press conference, especially when he spoke of the support he received from his wife Carla Alemán Magnani and their children.

“I only asked God to help me because I wanted to see my kids again, I asked him with a lot of love, honey, and I know he heard me because He has something for me that He wants me to do and I think it is related to this testimony, ”he added.

The businessman was hospitalized last June after being infected with Covid-19 along with his entire family, but he was the only one to be seriously affected.

And because of the damage the virus caused to his lungs, he had to intervene.

“I entered (the hospital) weighing 64 pounds, today I weigh 48 pounds,” he said, “but during this process (of recovery) I see how little by little, with eating and moving, my weight is going up That motivates me, I feel good, I have strength, I see my legs start to move, my hands, my body, my routines, going to the bathroom, it’s the most basic thing, being able to do it yourself ” .

Mauri said he has no brain or motor injuries and that a good lifestyle is a factor in overcoming the infection.
