The actor Toño Mauri eventually left the hospital to complete his recovery from home, after undergoing a double lung transplant late last year.
“I thought I was going to the hospital and that I was going home that same day, but what was my surprise that it wasn’t. The virus immediately attacked my lungs, it really damaged them, after that I couldn’t breathe anymore.
“The only hope they gave me was to look for a lung transplant,” he said. Toño Mauri in an interview with Program Wake up America where he assured that of the eight months he spent in hospital, he spent four in a coma.
