Tom Cruise expressed frustration with the crew members on the set of “Mission: Impossible 7” after seeing them violate COVID-19 guidelines, two sources close to production confirm that Variety.
As first reported by The Sun, after Cruise saw two crew members standing too close to each other in front of a computer screen, he said to the crew, “If I see you do it again, you’re fucking gone.”
In audio obtained by The Sun, Cruise can be heard saying, “We are the gold standard. They’re there in Hollywood and now they make movies because of us. Because they believe in us and what we do. I’m on the phone at night with every fucking studio, insurance companies, producers and they watch us and use us to make their movies. We create thousands of jobs, motherfuckers. I never want to see it again. Ever!”
Cruise has been strict about enforcing COVID-19 guidelines on the set of the film in Britain, scolding the crew for taking advantage of the safe environment the team in attendance helped create.
‘You can tell the people who are losing their homes because our industry is closed. It won’t put food on their table or pay for their college education. I sleep with that every night – the future of this damn industry! “Cruise said.” So I’m sorry, I’m above your apologies. I told you, and now I want it, and if you don’t, you’re out. We’re not stopping this damn movie! Is it understood? When I see it again, you’ll be fucking gone. “
Cruise designated specific members of the crew and said to one, “You’re going to cost him his job.”
“Am I clear? Do you understand what I want? Do you understand the responsibility I have? Because I’ll cover your reason, and if you can’t be reasonable and I can’t handle your logic, you’ve been fired,” Cruise continued . “That is it. That is it. I trust you are here. “
Mission: Impossible 7 was hit with delays recently in October when 12 people on set in Italy tested positive for COVID-19. Production resumed a week later and returned to the UK two weeks ago. “Mission: Impossible 7” is directed by Christopher McQuarrie and will be released on November 19, 2021.
