Considering how much effort it was to get Snow Piercer on TV, it is logical in the first place that TNT wants to stick as hard as possible to its adaptation of the Bong Joon Ho film. You not replace a showrunner and to director and then move the series from one network to another so you can end it prematurely, right? TNT seems to agree because Variety says the network has ordered a third season of the drama. This comes about a week before the show’s second season premieres, so it seems like a relatively rare positive sign for that Snow Piercerfuture prospects – kind of like when you’re told the world is a frozen wasteland, but then you see a polar bear and you realize it might just get right again. (That happens in the movie.)

Snow Piercer the show, like Snow Piercer the film is about a train that endlessly circles the planet as it transports mankind’s last survivors in the aftermath of an icy apocalypse. It stars Daveed Diggs and Jennifer Connelly. Season three won’t premiere for a while, of course, but the gap between seasons one and two wasn’t particularly long.
