A man has revealed a little-known hack for ‘hiding’ apps on an iPhone, changing their name and symbols to hide them easily – but many say it’s ‘easy to cheat’.

TikTok user Kaansanity, 21, from the US, often shares tech tips online with his 4.5 million followers.

But many have said his latest hack will make it easy for people in relationships to hide apps they shouldn’t be using – like a Tinder and Bumble – by making the dating app seem like a mundane thing.

1. Open the shortcut app

2. Click on the ‘+’ sign to add a new shortcut

3. Click on ‘Add action’

4. Search for ‘Open App’ in the search bar

5. Click on Open Ap

6. Choose App to hide

9. Add a name that you want to appear in the app

Kaan showed viewers how to complete the hack and revealed how to change the face of his Tinder app.

The clip has generated thousands of comments, many of which said it made them suspicious of their partners.

“Why do you teach people to be more shady,” someone wrote.

“Okay, now I’m about to click on all of my husband’s apps,” another joked.

“It’s basically how to create an aesthetically pleasing home screen on iOS,” said a third.

Some even went so far as to call Kaan a ‘genius’ and a true legend’.

Others pointed out that after performing the trick, they could still see the original app, and it will also show up when suspicious partners search the app library.

While some even suggested that you can add a condition to add a password when opening the app for those who are trying to be extra sneaky.
