12:18 p.m. PT – TMZ obtained the shipping audio for Tiger’s crash and it sounds like they realized in real time that Tiger was trapped inside … and needed backup STAT.
In the audio you will hear ambulance personnel calling to close the surrounding roads … and discussing the seriousness of the crash.
11:52 a.m.PT – Mark Steinberg, Tiger’s agent, says he has suffered multiple leg injuries and is currently undergoing surgery.
11:43 a.m.PT – An LA County Sheriff’s source tells us TMZ Sports they do not believe that alcohol was involved, but they did not say whether there might be another substance involved.
Tiger Woods was hospitalized after a serious car accident in LA County on Tuesday morning – in which officials needed the jaws of life to free him from the vehicle.
“On February 23, 2021, at approximately 7:12 a.m., LASD responded to a single vehicle collision on the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes,” officials say.
The vehicle was heading north on Hawthorne Boulevard, on Blackhorse Road, when it crashed. The vehicle was seriously damaged. ‘
“The driver and sole occupant were identified as PGA golfer, Eldrick ‘Tiger’ Woods,” officials confirmed.
“Mr. Woods was freed from the wreckage with the ‘jaws of life’ by firefighters and paramedics in Los Angeles County, then transported by ambulance to a local hospital for his injuries.”
Unclear what caused the accident. The police are investigating.
Tiger, 45, was on hand for his annual Genesis Invitational golf tournament at the Riviera Country Club in the Pacific Palisades.
This week he took photos with stars like David Spade and Dwyane Wade – and announced his recent back surgery could keep him away from the upcoming Masters tournament in Augusta, Georgia.

It’s not the first time Tiger Woods has been involved in a high-profile car accident – he crashed his SUV in a 2009 incident at his Florida home.
In 2017 he had been arrested after police found him, passed out at the wheel of his car. Tiger said he took prescription drugs before the accident and did not realize how the drugs would affect him.
