The operation began on February 9, when the National Police received a complaint via a phone call in which a protected witness claimed to have been the victim of a robbery by the suspects.

The person reported that he was at a restaurant in Tegucigalpa with his wife that day; As he left the establishment and drove to his car, he saw that the driver’s side door was open. Upon entering, he realized that his backpack had been stolen.

Inside, the witness was carrying a laptop with a value of 49,000 lempirasBesides phone chargers and his wife’s wallet who carried debit and bank cards.

After the event, the citizen’s wife received a notification via mobile phone in which the banking institution indicated that the debit card had been declined in a supermarket, for a purchase that amounted to 5,000 Lempiras

Three days later, after the investigation and location work, police officers decided to set up an operation in one of the main entrances to the Kennedy Ward, where the women were found and would be arrested.

Multiple credit and debit cards, car keys and cell phones were seized from the suspects. The protected witness stated that the stolen computer had been sold by the women. An investigation using mobile phones as evidence identified the buyer, so elements of the National Police recovered the item.

The detainees, informed police authorities, will be referred to the prosecutor’s office of the region for the proper investigation and charge procedure.
