Three additional deaths from COVID-19 in Puerto Rico

The Department of Health today reported the deaths of three more people in Puerto Rico from COVID-19. It is about two women and one man. The ages of the people who died range from 49 to 78 years. With these three additional deaths, the total number of deaths on the island from the coronavirus amounts to 2,109 in one year.

The total number of deaths is divided into 1,796 confirmed and 313 probable.

On the other hand, today’s report adds 1,102 positive cases to COVID-19 in Puerto Rico, 298 of which were confirmed by molecular testing. Another 158 are from antigen tests and 646 from serological tests. Recently, the Scientific Coalition recommended discontinuing the use of serological tests – which measure antibodies – as a diagnosis of COVID-19.

The total number of confirmed cases that have collected on the island is already 96,732. Of these, 94,991 have recovered, according to the health reporting system.

The number of hospital admissions continued to increase with 183 people in hospital, 20 of whom were minors. Of these hospitalized people, 30 are in the Intensive Care Unit, including one minor. According to the health report, 22 people are connected to a ventilator.

Today, the agency continues massive vaccination efforts in several cities, as well as efforts to test antigen.
