This is how politicians voted in the morning

Representatives of the various parties have already approached the polls. Margarita Escobar, from ARENA, had to replace her ballot

Candidates from the various political parties involved arrived in their respective voting centers in the morning and agreed that the problems that arose at the start of the day had already been resolved, so they invited the population to approach the polls with confidence, as they considered that both biosecurity measures and rules are correctly applied during the voting process.

Deputy Margarita Escobar, who is seeking re-election by ARENA, voted in the CE Concha Viuda de Escalón, but at the time of voting they broke the corner of one of the ballots, for which she had to be canceled and gave her another vote. .

Outside of the incident, Escobar said that “the obstacles have already been overcome in the morning, have no fear, there are all biosecurity measures in place, this is our democracy.”

The Vice President of the Republic, Félix Ulloa, voted downtown in the Motocross residential area, saying that “there is enough civilian presence, national observers and party representatives, in this center everything is going normally, as we have seen in other electoral processes. complaints were received, there was a long delay at the start of the installation of the JRV and the opening of centers, but by 10 o’clock those incidents were largely resolved ”.

Nidia Díaz, a candidate for the FMLN, voted INFRAMEN and said she had been there since 5am, describing what was happening in that voting center.

“The members of the polling station came in without major problems, except that they wanted to change the New Ideas party’s rule to register more than one coalition representative at the polling stations and that can’t be because the law is. clear that it is one per coalition. So they put pressure there and with that the atmosphere a bit arrogance, insults, so vague, but hence everything normal ”, he described what happened in different polling stations in different parts of the country.

Díaz noted that this is the 29th. electoral process that has been carried out in the country since the signing of the peace agreement in 1992, explaining that “it is very important that people become more aware, more motivated in voting, than the country’s electoral policy system, in the The best moments of other parties do not give the expectation that 60, 70 substitutes have emerged, but rather it is a system of residuals, ratios that also represent minorities. So the calculations cannot come out exactly as they have generated an expectation through opinion polls, opinion polls, because electoral arithmetic and the way the system does not allow it ”.

The MP’s deputy explained that “for example, the maximum peak the Front could have had is 35 (deputies), with over 1,500,000 (votes) in the presidential election. The same in ARENA, the biggest parties, it had 39 in 94, and from there it was always less than 50% plus 1, ”he analyzed, in relation to how the next meeting could be formed in 2021-2024. “So when you set expectations for people and say ‘come around, defend the vote they want to steal from you’, imagine ghosts because the country’s electoral political system is pretty proven.”

Yanci Urbina, in turn running for deputy for the FMLN in San Salvador, commented that “at 9:00 am, in San Salvador, as FMLN, we have a report telling us that most of the voting centers in the department have started and are in the spotlight. to the public, and the population has already started voting ”.

Speaking about what happened in the morning by some representatives of Nuevas Ideas, he said that “they resorted to bullying, to try to force themselves in and enter the voting centers. This caused a pause in some centers, delayed the start of operations in some cases, but these are situations that were separate, as these practices of political violence were rejected in the centers ”.

Roberto D’Aubuisson, who wants to be re-elected by ARENA as Mayor of Santa Tecla, commented that “we see the votes taking place in a safe and calm manner, always with the biosecurity measures we must enforce due to COVID-19. I see a massive mood that fills us with peace and joy. It’s smooth and calm. My expectation is that we will win, the data shows us a certain victory ”.

During the morning session, Norman Quijano, candidate for PARLACEN for ARENA, also cast their vote in the Colegio Sagrado Corazón; as well as the former candidate for the presidency of the Republic by this political institution, Carlos Calleja, in Bulevar del Hipódromo.

Mario Ponce, chair of the Legislative Assembly and deputy of the PCN, rejected indications of fraud by government officials, GANA and Nuevas Ideas, noting that “fraud had already been committed during this election period with the purchase of wills through the taxes of the Salvadorans, ”and he warned that“ we are going to follow this process section by section, second by second, and the result will not differ from the will that the voter deposits in that ballot box, which the TSE will issue between 9 and 11 am. clock night “.

Will Salgado, who wants to regain the mayor of San Miguel with the New Ideas-GANA coalition, voted for the Aminta Montiel school in the eastern city, as did his brother Numan Salgado, a GANA deputy.

The candidate for mayor of Migueleno regretted around 9:30 that “there are still centers that have not been opened for voting in San Miguel. We expected this, a friend used to say if they open late they can close late but they don’t want to. However much they do this animatedly and rattlingly, the indignant people will vote ”.

Regarding his chances of success, Salgado noted, “My expectations are high. Out of every 10 people I met, eight told me they were going to vote for me. We will win by more than 50% in these elections. I am one hundred percent sure that I will regain mayor and that will not be by a small margin ”.
