Almost a week ago, it was announced that the shortstop had signed a contract linking him to a club that looks more powerful than ever for the next 14 years, following the creation of several elite players.
But, according to a report by USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, the “Frailes” delegation, led by CEO AJ Preller, who traveled to the Dominican Republic to go over the extension with Tatis Jr. before agreeing for those 14 years, however, first offered a 12-year contract the young man from Santiago was smart and came up with a plan to convince his current team so they would add two more years.
