Zelda: Breath of the Wild has remained one of the Switch’s most popular games, despite the fact that it was released at the dawn of the console’s life in 2017. Since its release, fans have spent countless hours uncovering all of its secrets and mastering it. the strategies that let them play faster – execute it in new and interesting ways.

To that end, one of the most sought after secrets was the ability to access certain items early or keep items in a ‘New Game +’ situation – such as the Bow of Light, which is only available during the final boss fight. With an attack power of 100, infinite ammo, and infinite durability, it’s one of the best weapons in the game – but once you defeat Dark Beast Ganon, the game ends and you can’t access it – until now.

Amazingly, this is now possible thanks to the discovery of the “Memory storage” error. This particular flaw was found by YouTuber LegendofLinkk very recently and requires the player to ‘trick’ the game into transferring save file data.

It’s also a pretty complicated mistake to activate, but the hard work may well be worth it as it means you can start a New Game + with items and gear that you wouldn’t normally have access to from the start of the adventure would have, such as the Master Sword or the glider. Since you can get these items from the very beginning, this malfunction will occur huge implications for the way humans speed up Breath of the Wild as glitches are considered fair game.

Gaming Reinvented has put together an how-to video explaining the entire process, and if you visit the site, you’ll find a step-by-step guide on how to do it. It’s not easy, so consider yourself warned – and there’s always a chance Nintendo will find a way to fix it with an update. If you did manage to do it, let us know with a comment.
