Santo Domingo, RD.
The Minister of Industry, Industry and Trade and MSMEs, Victor-Ito-Bisonó, reported that the government is studying the possibility of providing facilities to import construction materials to counter the increases in this sector in recent weeks.
He assured that it is due to speculation or shortages, that there are increases that the government must make, indicating that, unlike fuels, they will not bear any part of the cost of materials.
“The idea is to be vigilant so that there is no shortage, so that there is no speculation and there is enough abundance in view of Dominican demand in all sectors,” said Bisonó.
The official spoke to journalists in the corridors of the National Palace, where he met with representatives of the country’s construction industry this afternoon.
A few weeks ago, the Listin Diario reported that the increase of between 20 and 15% of cement, sand, rods and other building materials endangered the housing plans of construction companies and civilians.
