Up to 5,000 boxes of medicine donated by citizens have received the Citizen Participation Department in recent days, which will be delivered to anyone who needs it.
The area’s director, María del Socorro Pérez Díaz, reported that despite the health emergency, the drug donation program remains in place to distribute them to the population.
Among the drugs delivered, they specialize for the treatment of hypertension, diabetes, respiratory infections and those related to mental illness, such as antidepressants and coronary diseases, among others.
He invited people to continue to donate as many people do not have the resources to buy them and some are very expensive and they turn to their environment to request some, which they may or may not have.
Medicines are received from Monday to Friday at the Citizen Participation Department, located at 111 Matamorosstraat of the Administrative Unit, from 08:00 to 14:30.
The official asked that only one person should come and donate the drug to comply with sanitation regulations, and those requesting the donation present the prescription.
