They put up for sale the house of “Roma”, a film with Yalitza Aparicio | THE UNMARTY

MEXICO CITY. – After news that the house where the filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón filmed “ROMA” was for sale went viral on social networks, the owner of the property has decided to remove the sale announcement and the contact.

After a visit by EL UNIVERSAL to the house, which is still inhabited by Gloria Silvia Monreal, the owner, they have not provided any information about the sale, nor its price.

“We are not interested in speaking to the media and the price is a private matter,” said a woman who did not identify herself behind the door.

A reliable source told us that the property measures 175 square meters of land and is 250 meters built, it has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a study, a parking space for two cars and an independent apartment; It is sold for 13 million pesos, but the price is to be discussed.

Compared to the months before the pandemic, where the place was full of tourists wanting to take a photo in front of the facade of the film made by Alfonso Cuarón, it now looks completely deserted.

The film was nominated in 10 categories at the 91st Academy Awards and won the gold statuettes in the “Best Foreign Film”, “Best Cinematography” and “Best Director” categories.




It also received the BAFTA award in the “Best Foreign Language Film”, “Best Director”, “Best Cinematography” and “Best Film” categories.

The house is located on Tepeji Street in the Roma neighborhood, opposite what was the Mexican filmmaker’s childhood home. The interior of the house shown on the tape was shot at a location in the Narvarte neighborhood.
