They killed the “vitamin thief” while demanding money on the bus

The deceased had a history of theft and deprivation of liberty. It had been a little over four months since he had been arrested and sent to prison for robbing a pharmacy.

Óscar Armando Comayagua, 43, who was murdered yesterday in a bus on Route 2, was released under measures and had a long criminal record for theft, theft and other crimes, police sources say.

One of the last police and court files dates back to early October 2020, when he robbed a pharmacy operating between the 3rd. Oriente street and 4a. Avenida Norte, in the historic center of San Salvador.

On that occasion, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) charged him with the crimes of theft and deprivation of liberty of four women.

However, the 14th court. the Paz de San Salvador turned the crimes into serious robberies and serious threats. And on October 8, when he held the first hearing, he decided to send him to protective custody.

According to the indictment, Comayagua broke into the pharmacy at approximately 8:00 am on June 12, 2020, while the four employees were alone. Two of them were in the hall.

Comayagua entered the scene with his hands on hip level, as if he had a firearm; For example, he threatened the employees and yelled at them that he would kill them if they did not hand over the cash from the till.

After subjugating the four employees, Comayagua tried to open the cash register’s drawer, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t, so he decided to leave, but first locked the four employees in a room to avoid do that follow.

However, one of them managed to call the National Civil Police. Comayagua had walked no more than 200 meters from the pharmacy when he was picked up by police elements.

When they went to search him, all they found was a cell phone, apparently his property, and four boxes of vitamin C that he stole from the pharmacy when he failed to steal the money from the box.

According to police sources, Comayagua had regained his freedom a few days ago, although he was always on trial.
