They kill a man while defending two women from an attacker

A man who defended two women as they were attacked in the Banco Popular parking lot on Luis Muñoz Rivera Avenue in Río Piedras on Wednesday evening at around 8:50 a.m. was killed by a gunshot to the chest, the police officer confirmed.

According to the investigation into the incident, while a woman was at the bank’s ATM with a friend depositing money, a person approached her with a firearm and announced the attack.

Immediately afterwards, their companion, who was waiting in a Nissan Máxima car with a child under 8, noticed the situation and came out to defend the women while she was shot.

The victim was identified as Rubén Cabrera Aparicio, 54, from San Juan.

Cabrera Aparicio was transported to San Francisco hospital and from there he was referred to the Medical Center in Río Piedras, where his death was confirmed.

In connection with these events, a bullet hit the right rear window of the 2014 Ford Fiesta, white, driving through the place in the direction of Cupey.

A .40 caliber cap was seized on the spot.

Agent Cordero assigned to the Homicide Division of the San Juan Criminal Investigation Corps, along with prosecutor Omar Domínguez, investigated the events.
