A dead man and a woman shot and wounded, who also died while receiving medical attention at the Medical Center, were the result of a shooting that took place yesterday, Thursday, at 11:00 am at Brazil’s intersection with Rexach Avenue, for the school of Santiago Iglesias, in Santurce.
According to preliminary information, authorities were warned of shots fired at the scene, via a call to the 9-1-1 emergency system, and a man’s body was found in a gray Nissan Pathfinder upon arrival. With multiple gunshot wounds to various parts of his body.
The deceased was identified as Juan C. Montañez Alamo, 37, of Carolina.
On the spot, a woman was also found shot and transported in a fragile condition to the Río Piedras Medical Center, where she later died of her injuries. She was identified as Jarry Lee Laureano Rosario, 26, from Toa Alta.
Officers affiliated with the Barrio Obrero Precinct provisionally attended the complaint and monitored the scene, referring the case to San Juan CIC Homicide Division staff, who, along with the on-call prosecutor, oversaw the investigation. .
