A plane entering Honduran airspace was secured this Tuesday by armed forces operations in the Tabacunta sector, near Brus Laguna.
The aircraft was made safe after an accident in the area of La Mosquitia, in which it was completely destroyed as a result of combustion.
Armed Forces reported that said aircraft from South America he allegedly transported drugs on his way to national territory. After what happened, there were soldiers at nearby points to locate possible findings related to the alleged narcotics plane.

During the first nine months of 2020, cocaine seizures surpassed 2019 in Honduras, but major challenges remain in intercepting illegal drugs transported by land, air and sea, according to the State Department.
In 2020, the Honduran government highlighted the location and eradication of fields used for drug trafficking in the northeast of the country. Meanwhile, until October last year, Honduran National Police wiped out about 40 acres of coca plantations and security forces located and destroyed 11 clandestine cocaine laboratories with some support from the United States mission.
