The exponent of the urban genre, Arcángel, released sexist expressions through his social networks criticizing the way women dress and accusing them of being provocative in order to ‘get likes’.
Through a story on Instagram, Arcángel wrote, “You want to be respected as a woman, blah blah, blah, but you keep teaching the sh ** on the networks for the likes. Women who behave stand out and they are cataloged AS LADIES”.
Arcángel’s statements quickly sparked outrage among his followers who took to Twitter to denounce the Puerto Rican’s words.

Later, Brazilian singer Anitta published a message condemning these kinds of statements, even though he does not directly mention reggaeton.
“This is me showing my a ** on my Instagram. Now a special question on the theme of Women’s Day yesterday … you can use female asses in your videos and post explicit texts to get views but at the same time say women showing THEIR OWN ASSS on their social networks don’t deserve respect? I’m confused, ”Anitta said.
