They are investigating the death of a child under 5 in Ponce

Police yesterday afternoon reported the death of a minor under the age of five in the emergency room of the San Lucas Diagnosis and Treatment Center, located in the EL Tuque neighborhood of Ponce.

According to the information she had received from the press service, the complainant Wanda Acosta was interviewed and the police informed that she had transported her daughter, under the age of 5, to the above-mentioned hospital because she told her that she had pain in her limbs and that in the waiting room, the minor began to show a marked breathlessness. Immediately afterwards, the minor was assisted by a nurse and a nurse from the hospital institution, where the death was later confirmed by Dr. Pérez. It was reported that the minor showed no signs of visible violence at the time of the investigation.

The first investigation was conducted by Agent Laracuente of the Ponce Oeste Precinct. Sergeant Alex Ruiz, on-duty supervisor of the Ponce Area Criminal Investigation Corps, was notified, who along with agents Héctor Cappas of Homicide and Roberto Leandry of Technical Services, who, in addition to Prosecution Fabiola Rivera, issued a traffic ticket and ordered the transfer of the body to Forensic Sciences for autopsy purposes. The Department of the Family was notified, which provided the referral number.
