Officials, opinion leaders and famous faces from national events are trying to be their respective presidential candidates political parties.
Of the 14 political institutions registered in the National Electoral Council (CNE), will elect their representatives three tomorrow for the election process in November.

Some of the candidates are running for the second time in the primaries, such as Yani Rosenthal Hidalgo, who lost to Mauricio Villeda Bermúdez in 2012. Meanwhile, Luis Zelaya wants to become the Liberal Party representative again after running for the 2017 general election.
For the Freedom and Refoundation Party (free), Xiomara Castro is participating in the primaries for the second time. In 2013, the former first lady (2006-2009) became the first presidential candidate of the political party and also in the second Honduran to aspire to the Executive.

Castro won his party’s candidacy again in 2017, but formed the Opposition Alliance against the Dictatorship (or Alianza Libre-Pinu), led by Salvador Nasralla and accompanying her as presidential appointee.
Ángel Darío Banegas, liberal deputy for Cortés, aspires to be the liberal party’s first candidate. Such as the Chief Mayor Nasry Asfura and the President of the National Congress, Mauricio Oliva Herrera, on behalf of the National Party.
For his part, Carlos Eduardo Reina, from generations of liberal family, pretends to be the president of Libre after joining this political party ‘out of conviction’.
Also on his first attempt at it candidacy from Libre is Wilfredo Méndez, who wanted to be the candidate for mayor of the Central District in the 2017 primaries.

Expectations
According to Omar Rivera, executive secretary of the National Convergence Forum (Fonac), “The internal and primary elections must be an exemplary democratic exercise, a successful prelude that precedes the general election on the last Sunday of November 2021 and guarantees absolute respect for the popular will expressed in the polls in an attempt at the institutional character of the Honduran state ”.
The civil society leader “encouraged the Honduran people to participate in this electoral process in accordance with their party preferences and to lend support to the candidates for popularly elected positions of their choice.”
He also considered that the massive participation of Hondurans in these internal and political party primaries strengthens the democratic system “and is a first step towards the success of the November 2021 election fair.”
