But with months to go before much of the population is vaccinated, it’s important to keep up with safety and health guidelines and keep an eye on local statistics. The latter part will vary depending on where you live, as some US states do a much better job than others to control COVID and distribute the vaccine. WalletHub looked at all 50 states using just five key metrics – vaccination coverage, positive test rate, hospitalization rate, estimated transmission rate, and mortality rate – to see which were the safest and which could be improved.
