The Ministry of Health reported that 73 municipalities on the island are at the level of high community transmission of Covid-19.
The municipalities at the high transmission level until April 20 are: Adjuntas, Aguadilla, Aguas Buenas, Aibonito, Arecibo, Arroyo, Añasco, Barceloneta, Barranquitas, Bayamón, Cabo Rojo, Caguas, Camuy, Canóvanas, Carolina, Cataño, Cayey, Ceiba, Ciales , Coamo, Comerío, Corozal, Culebra, Dorado, Fajardo, Florida, Guayama, Guayanilla, Guaynabo, Gurabo, Guánica, Hatillo, Hormigueros, Humacao, Isabela, Jayuya, Juana Díaz, Juncos, Lajas, Lares, Las Marías, Las Piedras, Loíza, Luquillo, Manatí, Maricao, Maunabo, Mayagüez, Moca, Morovis, Naguabo, Naranjito, Orocovis, Patillas, Ponce, Quebradillas, Rincón, Río Grande, Sabana Grande, Salinas, San Germán, San Juan, San Lorenzo, San Sebastián, Santa Isabel, Toa Alta, Toa Baja, Trujillo Alto, Utuado, Vega Alta, Vega Baja, Yabucoa and Yauco.
The schools in these municipalities must remain closed, although the governor has not yet indicated when face-to-face lessons will resume.
Vieques is the only municipality with a low transmission level. Meanwhile, at the level of substantial transmission, the municipalities are: Aguada, Cidra, Peñuelas and Villalba.
Today, the Department of Health reported 11 additional deaths from covid-19, as well as 799 new positive cases between confirmed and probable. This increases the accumulated number to 234,733 cases and 2,224 deaths, between confirmed and probable, since the start of the pandemic.
