Reinaldo Rueda’s departure from the Chilean national team has complicated many in light of the challenges in the qualifiers, but during the day it should be possible to clear the way. The main candidate to take over the Red Bank, Matías Almeyda, would have already reached an agreement with the ANFP and only his signature would be missing.
According to The Mercury, The Argentinian coach must complete procedures for his departure from San Jose Earthquakes, an MLS team, in order to announce him as the national team’s new mate, a fact that should have happened Friday.
In order to reach an agreement, where the contracts would already have been drawn up and ready for signature by the parties, both parties should have lowered their financial claims on the position.
The ANFP helmsman, Pablo Milad, moves against the clock to find a replacement for Rueda. On March 25 and 30, Chile will meet Paraguay and Ecuador respectively for another double date of the qualifiers to Qatar 2022.
