The window crashes off the 53rd floor of the Midtown, Manhattan, NYC high-rise

MIDTOWN, Manhattan (WABC) – A glass panel crashed on West 58th Street in Manhattan on Thursday night.

The NYC Department of Buildings says it fell off the 53rd floor of a tall building on Billionaire’s Row around 5:00 p.m.

Investigators say the 11-by-2-foot window section was previously damaged before it fell.

On-site contractors had plans to replace the window.

Fortunately, there was no one on the floor where the glass fell and no injuries were reported.

Officials are still deciding whether to issue citations.
