The United States requests Honduras to extradite three people

Tegucigalpa.

The Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) on Tuesday received documents from the US embassy containing three requests for interrogation from the North American country.

In this sense, the President of the Court, Rolando Argueta, a plenary meeting is convened to appoint the judges who will hear extradition requests

After being named, the robes analyze the documents to determine whether the renditions of the three people, whose names are unknown, are going ahead.

It should be remembered that the last time a Honduran was extradited was in 2019. There were no extraditions in 2020 and to date the deportation of Jose Rafael Sosa Mendez, whose extradition has already been granted by a judge.

Since 2014, Honduras has extradited more than 20 Hondurans to the United States, accused of introducing drugs or money laundering in that country.

A constitutional reform passed in 2012 allowed the extradition of Hondurans at the request of other countries, with Carlos Arnaldo “El Negro Lobo” being the first to be deported to the northern nation.
