The United States reached 20,427,780 confirmed cases this Saturday and the number of 350,196 deaths from Covid-19, according to the independent Earl of Johns Hopkins University.
The grim song occurs when a new variant of the coronavirus is spreading to dozens of countries.
The coronavirus variant was first discovered in the UK last month and has now spread to dozens of countries, probably transmitted by infected people who traveled the world and unwittingly brought the microscopic intruders with them.
The variant is now found in dozens of countries, including the United States, where it has infected people Colorado, California and Florida.
On Friday 1. In January the milestone of more than 20 million cases was reached, whatever that implies the number of infections in the United States doubled in less than two months, since the first 10 million cases were reached on Nov. 9.
These data illustrate the severity of the regrowth in the United States, which registered in December several daily records in the death toll from Covid-19 and ended 2020 with a record high of more than 125,000 hospital admissions for the disease.
Even if you don’t have a coronavirus, record-breaking COVID-19 hospitalizations can have a devastating impact on you.
“When you get into a car accident, you want us to save your life,” said the Dr. Brad Spellberg, medical director of the Los Angeles County University of Southern California Medical Center at CNN.
Some hospitals in the United States started running without health personnel months ago. But the Christmas gatherings are sparking new waves of Covid-19 hospitalizations.
“We see people who got together for Thanksgiving, or who got together for other reasons (and) really didn’t understand, even so far, what was at stake,” Spellberg said.
In the entire country 125,379 people were hospitalized on Thursday with Covid-19, more than any other day during the pandemic, according to the Covid Tracking Project. The number of patients also rose above 125,000 on Friday, but dropped slightly to 123,639 on Saturday. The United States has had more than 100,000 hospital admissions for 32 days in a row.
Our daily update is published. States reported 2.1 million tests, a record 276,000 cases, 123,639 people in hospital, and 2,367 COVID-19 deaths. We believe vacation reporting continues to cause large fluctuations in data. pic.twitter.com/RgHdjXC9tj

“This is a total collapse of the health system when we peak again”, Spellberg said.
“And we cannot stop that in the hospital. We can only respond. It is the public that has the power to stop the spread of this virus by obeying published public health guidelines. “
If someone in your home tests positive #COVID-19, you can spread it even if you don’t have any symptoms:
If possible, separate that person from others.
Put on a mask if you’re treating her.
Wash your hands and disinfect surfaces regularly.More: https://t.co/GdvrPjB1Ba pic.twitter.com/hpSZG91vk3

A difficult start to the new year
As the Americans greeted the New Year, more than 10,000 families mourned the new loss of a loved one by Covid-19.
They reported at least 10,901 deaths from Covid-19 in the last three days of 2020, according to Johns Hopkins University. That’s about 3,633 deaths per day, more than the number of lives lost in the September 11 attacks.
In less than 11 months, Covid-19 killed nearly 350,000 people in the United States.
And another 115,000 people could die of the disease in the next month, based on projections from the University of Washington Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME).
