The strangest wrestlers in the company’s history

WWE has not been shy about creating a colorful cast of characters in the past, but at times wrestlers were given personas who turned out to be beyond the bare bones in the strange paths they took. From killer clowns to “booger” wrestlers to more than a few “chicken-themed” fighters, we thought we’d take the opportunity to tear down some of the most insane wrestlers to get into the organization’s past. to appear.

Recently, professional wrestler Lars Sullivan had made his debut with an original design that he would debut in the “Brilliant Behemoth”, a character more like Mr. Hyde then resembled everything else we had seen before. While Lars is no longer part of the WWE and has left the world of wrestling, we can imagine a lot more crazy wrestlers will get past the pike.

Who do you think is the craziest wrestler to ever appear in WWE history? Who is the current craziest wrestler in the organization’s roster? Feel free to let us know in the comments or call me directly on Twitter @EVComedy to tell us all about comics, anime and the world of professional wrestling.

Gobbledy Gooker

In what must be one of the strangest ideas in WWE history, the Gobbledy Gooker was promoted as a mysterious part of the Survivor series, which comes out of an egg and puts a mold in the square circle. While not originally envisioned as a wrestler, he became one of the last Survivor series that hilariously saw him become the 24/7 champion after a surprise attack on R Truth. An ironic bit about this strange creature is that the Undertaker appeared in the same Survivor series that it did.

red rooster

If you thought there was only one chicken-based wrestler in World Wrestling Entertainment’s stables, you’d be wrong. Terry Taylor got a strange makeover calling him the “Red Rooster”. Not only did he get a new outfit and a new haircut, but he also changed his mannerisms and movements to mirror those of the wild bird. Needless to say, the Red Rooster wasn’t a timeless character in WWE history, but he’s certainly remarkable.

The Bushwhackers

I challenge you to imagine the Bushwhackers appearing in the WWE today, with their usual modus operandi, licking much of the audience they would interact with while running towards the ring. World Wrestling Entertainment’s past has seen some really bizarre wrestlers linked to other countries, with the Bushwhackers linked to New Zealand, and other wrestlers like The Mountie and the “Wild Samoans” putting on bizarre performances. Needless to say, the Bushwhackers are arguably the most popular wrestlers you’ll see on this list.

Bastion Booger

At one point the WWE wondered, “What if we came up with a gimmick for a wrestler that turned him into the most disgusting human being in the world?” Enter Bastion Booger. In addition to using moves that would make anyone watching them hideous, Mike Shaw would enter the ring with one of the strangest theme songs imaginable, which you can check out above. Ironically, his previous persona in the WWE was perhaps as strange as he was shown as a “Mad Monk” known as the “Friar.”

The Repo Man

Barry Allen Darsow was actually Smash of the popular WWE tag team known as Demolition, but also hit a mask and entered the ring by sneaking down and stealing everything he could as the “Repo Man”. One of the strangest ideas, when it came to these bizarre personas, was the idea that they just happened to fall into the wrestling game, with the Repo Man apparently being a thief related to McDonald’s Hamburglar who happened to be a wrestler to help get him more and more material possessions.

The warlord

Terry Szopinski during his heyday as part of World Wrestling Entertainment, then the World Wrestling Federation, was a beast of a wrestler, muscular during a time when fighters were known for their giant muscles in the 1980s. What made the Warlord so strange was his ring attire which would be a Mad Max style, semi-metal mask on his face, a stick with a giant W. while some wrestlers like Van Vader and Bam Bam Bigelow made their strange appearances work, the Warlord was strange to be just strange.

Doink the clown

Matt Osborn’s gimmick as an evil wrestler clown is odd enough in itself, but the character’s longevity is almost as strange. Not only was Doink the Clown a trademark of the WWE, but he also appeared in Extreme Championship Wrestling. Doink didn’t take a page from the Joker in his nefarious plans, but rather wore the outfit during his matches and hammered it during his ring entries.
