The specialist critics position ‘Soul’ as the animated film candidate for awards in 2021

Pixar’s ‘Soul’ is ranked as the best animated film of 2020 by moviegoers, fans, streaming users and critics.

It would not be rare for it to be awarded at the most important ceremonies of the film industry in 2021. The combination of real life, the value of our soul, our purpose on earth and the passion for music makes ‘Soul’ a perfect movie for adults and children alike.

Recently, the specialist site ‘Rotten Tomatoes’, which is responsible for evaluating the productions and always correcting its forecasts of expensive galas like the Oscars, has criticized ‘Soul’, and they did not fall short of praise for the directed film by Pete Docter, starring Jamie Foxx as lead actor Joe Gardner.

“A wonderful film to watch. ‘Soul’ shows that Pixar’s power to provide exceptional entertainment for all ages remains intact,” was the general consensus of Rotten Tomatoes.

“By alternating the two worlds, ‘Soul’ finds an almost extraordinary visual and soundscape”, says Esther Zuckerman, renowned film critic. His colleague Richard Roeper of the Chicago Sun-Times commented, “The music takes over every frame and Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross will certainly be nominated for another Oscar for their jazz score.”

“Movie of the year” for people

After the streaming premiere, ‘Soul’ was named “the movie of the year” by the prestigious People.

The Pixar film’s premiere coincided with that of ‘Wonder Woman 194’ with Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, moving it completely into the premiere on HBO Max, which couldn’t match the animated movie in terms of renderings and new users.
