“It would be interesting to see what Beth would be like as a mother!” The Queen’s Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy reveals her hopes and ideas for a second season
While no plans have been made for a second season of Netflix hit The Queen’s Gambit, the show’s star Anya Taylor-Joy has ideas on how the story could continue.
In it, she stars as Beth Harmon – a chess prodigy who manages her skills with pills and alcohol.
She said to Deadline, “It would be very interesting to see what Beth would be like as a mother now that she is sober and more aware of the demons that bring her down.

‘It’s so surreal and very beautiful that people want a second season because we never thought about it, there was no discussion about it.
“That said, never say never in Hollywood!”
The 24-year-old actress has been nominated for Golden Globes, SAG and Critics’ Choice Awards this week for her role as the genius of the board game.
She will also star in David O. Russell’s upcoming top secret project which is currently being filmed in Southern California.
She said to Deadline: ‘It would be very interesting to see what Beth would be like as a mother now that she is sober and more aware of the demons that bring her down’
She added, “Never say never in Hollywood!”
Deadline reported this week that Robert De Niro, Mike Myers and Chris Rock have all come on board.
It will be the second time that De Niro has collaborated with the director; he starred in Silver Linings Playbook with Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper.
Also newly registered are Timothy Olyphant, Michael Shannon, Andrea Riseborough, Matthias Schoenaerts and Alessandro Nivola.

The new group of talents joins previously announced stars John David Washington, Zoe Saldana and Christian Bale who were seen on location Monday in Saugus, outside of Los Angeles.
The cast also includes Margot Robbie and Rami Malek.
Russell directs the film from his own screenplay and all that is known is that it is an original story.
The filmmaker went through a productive phase in the early 2000s, directing a series of high-profile releases, including The Fighter, Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle and Joy.
He first rose to prominence with the 1996 comedy Flirting With Disaster, which was followed by Three Kings in 1999 and I Heart Huckabees in 2004.
He has been nominated five times for an Academy Award in the directing and screenwriting categories.
