The PLD re-elects all members of its Central Committee and extends its enrollment to 955 members

The Dominican Liberation Party approved the re-election of its current Central Committee members and agreed to create approximately 300 new posts in that body.

The decisions are framed in the decisions of the Ordinary Congress of José Joaquín Bidó Medina, which is carried out by the purple political organization.

It has been decided that the central committee will consist of no fewer than 955 members, who will remain in office for 4 years.

The decisions were announced by the organizing committee of the IX José Joaquín Bidó Medina Ordinary Congress, during a press conference at the national house of the PLD.

In addition, a temporary paragraph was approved, indicating that in the course of 2021-2025 the Central Committee will consist of the current 460 Central Committee members, the legislators, mayors and city administrators elected in the 2020 elections, in addition to “those proposed by the Political Committee” And 300 members who can be elected at local, national and foreign levels.

The PLD has established the Advisory Committee, which will consist of the members of the Political Committee who are not part of this body.

“The president, vice presidents and general secretary may not hold office in the Dominican state or be candidates for elective positions. In the event that they decide to aspire to an elective, they must relinquish the party functions they hold before expressing their ambitions, ”says one of the decisions passed by Congress.
