I love these cross gen deals
It’s sale time again on the PlayStation Store, and luckily there’s now a much-needed Deals tab if you’re browsing the store on a PS5. The Critics’ Choice sale lasts until February 17, 2021.
I have quite a few highlights before getting to the full list further down in this post: Spelunky 2 ($ 13.99), Assassin’s Creed Valhalla ($ 40.19), Doom Eternal ($ 19.79), Axe ($ 38.99), The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope ($ 20.09), Warhammer: Vermintide 2 ($ 11.99), World war Z ($ 8.99), The sinking city ($ 17.99), Civilization VI ($ 14.99), and Dishonored: The Complete Collection ($ 17.99).
I will also give a shout-out Borderlands 3 ($ 19.79), which includes the PS4 and PS5 editions, the latter of which was excellent in co-op. It looked sharp, ran fine and the recoil from the DualSense shots was wild without annoying me. If you like more Destiny 2 nowadays I get it. Beyond light has fallen to $ 26.79
Otherwise, you cannot go wrong Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 for $ 29.99 – it’s a feel-good gem. And while Resident Evil 3 took a hit for being too light, it’s a breezy, highly replayable romp for $ 19.79.
I consider Immortals Fenyx Rising for $ 35.99, but I think the price will drop soon – and I think I can wait. I’m at a point with Ubisoft open-worlders where it’s best I just wait for them to get their last major updates, however long that takes. Otherwise, I’ll get into situations where I marathon them once and never touch them again, regardless of which DLC inevitably comes later.
