More than 26 million people are infected with the coronavirus in the United States, who, after months immersed in the vaccination campaign to immunize the population against the disease, have registered more vaccinated (of at least one dose) than COVID cases – 19.

According to figures collected by Johns Hopkins University as of Monday evening, 26,317,525 Americans have contracted the disease, the country in the world most affected by the pandemic, of whom 443,361 have died.

Decrease in cases and deaths

The seven-day average of new coronavirus cases in the country has dropped to 144,861, while the daily mean number of deaths has also dropped to 3,135, according to the Covid Tracking Project.

Nearly 95,000 people have been hospitalized in the United States for the disease and nearly 19,000 patients are in the ICU, 6,291 of whom are on a ventilator.
